2011 - Cadet / Juvenile Nationals Results

Wrestling PEI had sent athletes to compete at the Cadet/Juvenielle wrestling National championships in Windsor, Ontario. The Island was represented by members of Rikidokan and Raw Wrestling clubs out of Charlottetown and Red Rock out of Montague.

Hillary Jones, the lightest Wrestler at the Nationals took home a gold medal for her efforts in the 38 KG class.

In the other free style events Lorena Ellis won a Silver in the Women 60Kg class. This result is another example of the strong season the RAW wrestling member is having.

PEI was 5th in Cadet Girls Provincial points with 10.

Rikidokan’s Trevor Banks got a Silver in the Men’s 50Kg and fellow Rikiodokan member MacKenzie Sapier won a bronze in the Men’s 58kg.

The second part of the weekend included the Greco Roman portion of the Nationals. In that event MacKenzie Sapier won a gold medal by beating a PanAm game medalist from the USA. Trevor Banks captured his second medal of the weekend by winning a bronze in Greco Roman.
