the WPEI AGM will be held on Monday June 11th at SPort PEI. The ADL awards will be presented that evening as well to WPEI members. Note the change from June 6th and the location.

Several Island clubs took part in the Eastern Canadian wrestling championships recently.

Clubs included Rikidokan, Raw, Red Rock, Summerside and a newly-formed club out of Colonel Gray High School.

Many Island wrestlers enjoyed very favourable results at the competition, including gold for Trevor Banks of Rikidokan in the under-54 kilogram juvenile men, silver and bronze for Halen Sky and Liz Lee of Colonel Gray, and bronze for JoJo Orsatti of the Red Rock Wrestling Club.

Good luck to all the Island wrestlers attending the UNB Open and Eastern Canadian wrestling championships in Fredericton this weekend.

Elisabeth Williams, from Concordia University, former PEI Womens Canada Games Coach, beat Poland and Russia before losing to the United States to claim the silver medal at the 9th World University Wrestling Championships.

Cost

The cost per wrestler is $80.00. This fee includes a JAR Fall Classic momento, a bbq lunch on Saturday, and all the fun you are allowed to have in a weekend. There is funding available for athletes attending.
