the WPEI AGM will be held on Monday June 11th at SPort PEI. The ADL awards will be presented that evening as well to WPEI members. Note the change from June 6th and the location.

Kingston native Lorena Ellis returned to P.E.I. with a bronze medal from the 2012 national cadet/juvenile wrestling championships held recently in Fredericton, N.B.

After a tough first round loss to eventual national champion Brittany Johnson of Saskatchewan, Ellis reloaded and won her next two matches en route to the third-place finish in the juvenile girls 70 kg division.

Lutte New Brunswick Wrestling is excited to host the 2012 CAWA Long Term Athlete Development Coaching Conference and Grappling Coaching Course to be held in Fredericton, NB from the Saturday 14th – Monday, 16 July 2012. Clint Kingsbury, CAWA Domestic Development Manager will be the Presenter for the Conference.

This Conference has been expanded to include Wrestling Technical Level 3 Coaching Certification and Learner Facilitator/Evaluator Training.

Colin Banfield Senior mens Absolute division 4 place finish
Ligrit Sadiku Cadet male 54 KG Silver medal, also competed in Cadet Absolute division won Gold Medal

Prince Edward Island's MacKenzie Sapier and Kent Hardy both won bronze medals at the Canadian wrestling championships in St. Catherines, Ont., on the weekend.

Representing the Black Bears Wrestling Club of New Brunswick, Sapier won bronze in the junior 60 kg Greco-Roman event, while Hardy took Greco-Roman bronze in the senior 66-kilogram category.

Winsloe’s Veronica Keefe, representing Montreal-YMHA, finished fourth in the senior women’s freestyle 72 kg division, losing a close 4-3 decision in the bronze-medal match to Justina Distasio of the Burnaby Mountain Wrestling Club.
